Four Manchester United players, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Marcel Sabitzer and Tyrell Malacia, participated in a training session at Carrington on Wednesday morning.
Erik ten Hag’s squad is currently preparing for the crucial Europa League quarter-final second leg in Seville on Thursday. The tie is locked at 2-2 after the first leg at Old Trafford.
The return of Rashford, Shaw, Sabitzer and Malacia is a breath of fresh air for the squad that has been hit by the injuries of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane recently, among others.
Rashford has been out of action since the 2-0 Premier League win over Everton on April 8, where he went off the field while holding his groin.
Shaw missed the clash against the Toffees after being withdrawn in the first half of the home win against Brentford just three days prior.
Sabitzer and Malacia sat out United’s away win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Sabitzer notched up two goals in the first leg against Sevilla and was also bound to start the match at Forest but had to be replaced in the warm-up by Christian Eriksen as a precautionary measure.
The quartet’s involvement in Andalusia is still not confirmed, with Ten Hag expected to confirm his travelling squad this afternoon.
Erik could also shed light on the matter during his pre-match press conference from Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this evening.
It must be noted that United were on track to victory after two goals from Sabitzer inside the opening 21 minutes against Sevilla during the first leg.
But the loss of centre-backs Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez to injury proved costly as Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire scored own goals in the final six minutes plus stoppage time.
United will also be without the services of the suspended Bruno Fernandes for the second leg after he picked up a yellow card.
